Other manufacturers probably use the same threading, I just haven&#8217;t tried them. <\/p>\n<p>I don&#8217;t know if this is by design or not, but it makes coupling 35mm SLR lenses into optical setups fairly straightforward. I&#8217;m using it for a <a href=\"http:\/\/labrigger.com\/blog\/2010\/07\/06\/intrinsic-imaging-tips\/\">tandem lens macroscope<\/a>. In the picture above I used ThorLabs part <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thorlabs.com\/thorProduct.cfm?partNumber=SM3A2\">SM3A2<\/a>.
