It&#8217;s designed to be easy-to-use, with a gentle learning curve. They want this to be the &#8220;Arduino of Machine Vision&#8221;. The software IDE is free and open. The hardware is available from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sparkfun.com\/products\/14186\">Sparkfun<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/openmv.io\/collections\/products\">other places<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Color blob detection, eye and pupil tracking, motion detection, etc.<\/p>\n<p>You might recall, in 2013, <a href=\"http:\/\/labrigger.com\/blog\/2013\/08\/27\/pixy-for-easy-arduino-machine-vision\/\">we profiled the Pixy\/CMUcam<\/a> project for open computer vision \/ machine vision. And it has found application in neuroscience work, for example <a href=\"http:\/\/labrigger.com\/blog\/2017\/02\/19\/pixy-computer-vision-for-tracking-mouse-behavior\/\">this paper from Larkum&#8217;s lab<\/a>. However, it doesn&#8217;t seem to be regularly updated.
