The target application is for surgical preparations that make it difficult to use conventional objectives with shorter working distances and/or a requirement for a water interface. This objective is all about getting the geometry to work out. If you’re frustrated with the working distance limitations of objectives on the market for your particular surgical prep, we hope this can be an interesting solution for your work.

We already have some early adopters and we’re going to have a first run made soon. If you want in, contact us by the end of the day this Friday (Nov 13, 2020). We can accommodate some more people. $15k is the price.

Specifications

Design wavelength range

920 nm ± 10 nm

Working distance

20 mm

Numerical aperture

0.5

Magnification

10 X (with 200-mm focal length tube lens)

Focal length

20 mm

Field of view

2.08 mm (diameter)

Scanning angles

± 3 degrees

Entrance pupil

20 mm (diameter)

Parfocal distance

~90 mm

Mounting thread size

M32 x 0.75

Immersion media

Air

Coverslip thickness

Correction collar (0 – 1 mm glass thickness)

Strehl ratio (anything over 0.8 is good) across the field of view as measured in scan angle (degrees) for three different wavelengths (910 nm, 920 nm, 930 nm).

RMS wavefront error (anything under the black line is good) across the field of view as a function of scan angle (degrees) for three different wavelengths (910 nm, 920 nm, 930 nm).

The working distance is marked as 22 mm in this image, which is measured on-axis, from the center of the last lens.
