We just released our latest work on laser scan engine technology. It’s focused on how we can increase the scan angle range of otherwise inertia-limited scan engines.

The increase can be any integer multiple: 2x, 3x, 4x, or more– we show that there’s no limit in principle. Critically, this scan angle range increase comes with no penalty in terms of line scan rate or beam diameter. Lead engineer Che-Hang Yu did spectacular work on this– very creative, thorough, and rigorous. He provides a bunch of diffraction-limited designs, example data, and creative variations including a phase amplifier that can be used for adaptive optics.

Che-Hang had the fun idea to use AI to make a fake podcast about the work. I found it hilarious! It’s quite good in terms of describing the work in plain language, and it’s hysterical how it nails a lot of cliches about podcasts.

To share the fake podcast, I made a (real) video of me listening to it and providing some commentary and visual aids.

This is a silly thing, but I’m going to post it here anyways.
