How to wrap cables
I like things clean and organized. I’m basically Martha Stewart. With more lasers and fewer indictments.
Depending on the length of the cord and its minimum bend radius, several different wrapping styles can be acceptable. Here are some suggestions, in relatively brief video form (about 2 minutes, or less, each).
The roadie wrap, for very long cables that need to be unwrapped all at once to cover a long distance.
Similar idea, but for thin and relatively short wires.
This method can work fine too.
Zip ties are fine for relatively permanent installations. Velcro ties are another option:
And it’s nice to keep a roll of double-sided velcro (hook one side, loop the other) so that you can cut your own to length, as needed.
And by the way, if you have 20 foot cable for a 10 foot span, wrap the extra length up. Somewhere in the middle of the run can work well, because it’s out of the way of the connection panels.
too few people utilize the roadie wrap. it also keeps cords from staying in a coiled form when unraveled
