Custom enclosures, great and small
Posted in Hardware
A friend recently asked me about custom enclosures. I thought they wanted something small for electronics, and there are a couple of previous Labrigger posts that could be helpful.
eMachineShop does stuff like this too. Another thought is ClickFold, which does plastic enclosures in Charlotte, NC.
They actually wanted something much larger, for rodent behavior chambers. For large chambers, I like to build off of things from Global Industrial’s catalog, or someplace similar.
For custom fabrications, here are some places to check out:
DDB Unlimited (Oklahoma)
EdgeFab (Texas)
Bison ProFab (Texas)
Noble Industries (Indiana)
Custom Aluminum Boxes.com (Ohio)
I’m looking for a behaviour box, and I looked at / searched the GLobal industrial catalog, but couldn’t find any obvious behaviour boxes. What category do you find them under? Anything cheaper than $500 med associates boxes would be nice.
Their web site isn’t the easiest to sort through. But here’s something along the lines of what I was talking about.

Add insulation (something from mcmaster.com, probably)
Clickfold Plastics has really expanded its product line and capabilites. If you’re looking for a custom parts/enclosures, you should really give us a look.
