Pre-preprint: blogging a project
Posted in Uncategorized
SLAB is trying something new with one project in the lab. Prior to drafting a preprint, we’re blogging the project and sharing the results and analysis. We invite anyone to comment on the work.
I have been writing my lab-book with org-mode and was thinking of blogging the project (or uploading the html files with finished experiments). But I fear, as a PhD, I will be shut down by my boss for doing/trying so.
I hope that someday we will have a platform where this is basically the standard way of doing science. Somehow a form of “naked science”.
I will be following the project and wish you all the best 🙂
Thanks, Cumol. We wish you the best too.
You might be the only person we know who uses org-mode for lab notebooks. That’s an interesting choice!
I use Scimax (https://github.com/jkitchin/scimax) as a basis. What I like is that I can have my bibliography, research notes, experiment protocols, R scripts and generated graphs all in one file that is exportable to PDF and HTML.
