ScanBox – free, open, MATLAB-based software for two-photon microscopy
Posted in Software
Dario Ringach has written some nice software for the Trachtenberg scope mentioned before on Labrigger. They also have put together their own Cypress PSoC-based hardware box to control several parts of the system.
He set up a blog and has several posts on it.

He also discusses why they sync their analog sampling of the PMT signal to the laser pulses.
Correction — no, not exactly free. Right now my thinking is that the Matlab code will be open to users that need access to the inner workings, but not the full PSoC design and its firmware.
Oh. Okay. Thanks for the clarification.
The PSoC design and firmware, while very nice, is also more application-specific, and is less likely to be useful to a broad audience.
However, I imagine the MATLAB code has potential to be useful to other parties if you’re willing to share it. Is it only open to customers? Or can it be shared more broadly (with the understanding that non-customers should not expect support, of course)?
