It is not perfect, but here is one reasonable alternative to the lab-standard tool cabinet:
If the room is cleanish, then a small, open rack of bin-boxes (with lids, so nothing falls out) is an easy way to divide up groups of similar optics to move around to wherever you need to build something. McMaster has a few nice options.
It’s not something to help with organization per se, but leaving a cleanroom tape label on the lens box with which rig (even better, where in that rig) the optic is located is a nice practice. And it won’t leave the boxes sticking together after you remove it like regular lab tape does.
