Christoph Schmidt-Hieber and his collaborators Guzman and Schlogel have developed a cross platform (Linux, Windows, and OS X) application for analyzing electrophysiology data. Here’s the paper (open access). And here’s the code’s website.
A key feature is that there’s a Python shell for scripting. Thus, in addition to being specialized software for analyzing electrophysiology data, the user also has access to the Python ecosystem and all it has to offer.
The Linux version is shown above. Here’s the OS X version
And here’s the Windows version
On the topic, at a recent lab meeting, Taro Ishikawa’s Taro Tools event detection code for Igor Pro came up again. It’s a very versatile set of code, and we’ve used it not only on electrophysiology data (e.g., PSPs and PSCs), but also imaging data. Highly recommended.
